Prima BAP April - Cherished

Good day Bloggers!

Are you also taking advantage of the public holidays and also enjoying a 5 day weekend? Glorious glorious is what i say! Friday and Tuesday are public holidays here in South Africa, and many people (including me) are taking today off too - making the weekend Friday to Tuesday. (If only every week was like this :) )

So with all this free time did you manage to get any scrapbooking done? I am pleased to say that I did and here is my take on the Prima Build-a-page challenge for April.

Here is the Prima sketch:

A close up of the flower cluster. I used different flower ranges and some chipboard pieces to create the effect:

Here is a close up of the distressed 6"x6" papers used, as well as the paint effects.  I used 4 different 6x6 papers for the background, and added a stip which I used my American Craft border punch on as well as some chipboard pieces and a doillie:

I used paint on a Prima mask which gave a nice texture to the page.

The bottom of the photo was framed with a Say it in Crystal ribbon and bling border, which I cut to fit the A5 photo I used. The title - cherished, is from the chipboard pack I used.

The sketch was great and although i didn't add all the journalling stips I'm pretty pleased that I followed it quite nicely.

Since it was a Prima challenge I used only Prima products, not that that is ever a problem! They are:
12"x12" - Botanical Garden
6"x6" pad - Nature Garden #950194
Chipboard pieces #555313
Say it in crystal border - 553968
Mask - # 554644
Prima Flowers:
Lucerne Sun kiss #555702
Lucerne Meadow Lark # 556143
Perle Bebe En Francais # 555962
Essentials Pixie Glen

Hope you enjoyed the sketch and my take on it.

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Scrappin'

Scrap Africa Sketch 4 - memories

Hello scrapbookers!

Scrap Africa blog has their new sketch challenge up. When i sat down to do this layout it took me a while to decide what i was going to do. I knew i wanted to use my new prima flowers and chipboard pieces and the 6"x6"pads.

Here is my take on it:

I used the new Prima 6"x6" pad - Natures Garden for the circles, which i distressed.
I also distressed the 12'x12" paper and put it onto brown AC Cardstock.

And a close up of the flowers and chipboard cluster.

The gorgeous Prima border flower vines are great accessory on any page and the chipboard pieces go so nicely with the colours.

Morgan was so pleased with this one, she wanted to put it up on her wall! Well i have no doubt if i did that the flowers would be all over the floor in the morning. {sweet thing!}

I really am pleased with the outcome and hope you enjoy the challenge!

Here is the sketch:

Melody Collection - Golden Rod 842543

Lets Scrap - sketch 4-4-12

Dear Bloggers

Are you managing to get a lot of scrapbooking done with all these glorious public holidays? I have been dabbling a bit, but haven't managed to upload too many pics yet!

so here is a layout that i did a few weeks ago for Lets Scrap Sketch 4-4-12.

Here is the sketch:

and my take on it:

I used 2 white cardstock for the background and used a Heidi Swapp mask for the pattern in the middle. The mists are Enmarc - i just love their bright colours. The green and pink photo mats and colour blocks are plain cardstock.
I used my American Craft border punch - just love those guys!
The flowers are a mixture of white Kaisercraft flowers (white i altered with the chalk i inked the pages with), as well as Petaloo jewels and some chipboard which is from my stash (same as the 'fun' title). The rest of the title and wording is from a ki memories rubon sheet.
The small piece of patterned paper is a cut off from PRIMA.

and a close up of the masking:

I hope you like it, it took me ages to decide what to do with this sketch and i think i brewed over it for a few weeks!

The sketches from Lets Scrap really make me think out of the box as the outcome is not my usual style - good to expand your style i guess!!

Happy Scrappin' and if you are stuck take a trip over to Lets Scrap, they have a weekly sketch challenge with some great prizes up for grabs!

Have a happy week.

Much Love,
Zoe
