Scrap Africa Sketch 4 - memories

Hello scrapbookers!

Scrap Africa blog has their new sketch challenge up. When i sat down to do this layout it took me a while to decide what i was going to do. I knew i wanted to use my new prima flowers and chipboard pieces and the 6"x6"pads.

Here is my take on it:

I used the new Prima 6"x6" pad - Natures Garden for the circles, which i distressed.
I also distressed the 12'x12" paper and put it onto brown AC Cardstock.

And a close up of the flowers and chipboard cluster.

The gorgeous Prima border flower vines are great accessory on any page and the chipboard pieces go so nicely with the colours.

Morgan was so pleased with this one, she wanted to put it up on her wall! Well i have no doubt if i did that the flowers would be all over the floor in the morning. {sweet thing!}

I really am pleased with the outcome and hope you enjoy the challenge!

Here is the sketch:

Lets Scrap - sketch 4-4-12

Dear Bloggers

Are you managing to get a lot of scrapbooking done with all these glorious public holidays? I have been dabbling a bit, but haven't managed to upload too many pics yet!

so here is a layout that i did a few weeks ago for Lets Scrap Sketch 4-4-12.

Here is the sketch:

and my take on it:

I used 2 white cardstock for the background and used a Heidi Swapp mask for the pattern in the middle. The mists are Enmarc - i just love their bright colours. The green and pink photo mats and colour blocks are plain cardstock.
I used my American Craft border punch - just love those guys!
The flowers are a mixture of white Kaisercraft flowers (white i altered with the chalk i inked the pages with), as well as Petaloo jewels and some chipboard which is from my stash (same as the 'fun' title). The rest of the title and wording is from a ki memories rubon sheet.
The small piece of patterned paper is a cut off from PRIMA.

and a close up of the masking:

I hope you like it, it took me ages to decide what to do with this sketch and i think i brewed over it for a few weeks!

The sketches from Lets Scrap really make me think out of the box as the outcome is not my usual style - good to expand your style i guess!!

Happy Scrappin' and if you are stuck take a trip over to Lets Scrap, they have a weekly sketch challenge with some great prizes up for grabs!

Have a happy week.

Much Love,
Zoe

Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber Top 40 under 40

Zoe Waters – Top 40 Under 40

The Top 40 under 40 is a showcase of local business talent under the age of 40 compiled by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber (NMBBC).
Zoe Waters (33), is the Finance and Corporate Services Director at the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.

Waters has always been an entrepreneur at heart. 2002 saw her launch Sober Chauffer, which was later sold to become Good Fellas.

In 2008, a love of scrapbooking led her to open up Scrapaholics, a retail space that has since morphed into a thriving online store. Recognition soon followed, as Waters was named a finalist in the Emerging Entrepreneurs category of the BWA’s Regional Business Achievers Awards in 2009.
As Finance and Corporate Services Director at the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, Waters has a large portfolio, but she relishes the challenge. “The Company Secretary role has been extremely satisfying for me,” says Waters, “especially in line with King III and the new companies act. Guiding the Business Chamber into a new era has been an invigorating challenge.”

Waters – who says a new business venture is never far off the cards – is community-minded. In 2007 she launched a fundraising and awareness campaign for South Africans Against Drunk Driving. She raised sponsorship to climb Kilimanjaro and handed over a substantial donation cheque to the organization.

“I’ve never thought I couldn’t do something,” she explains. “My driving force is the need to make a difference.” Waters serves on the Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism Board as Chair of the Finance / HR sub-committee.

The Top 40 Under 40 list, an NMBBC initiative, was compiled from nominations and selected by an independent panel at the NMBBC. The end result is a showcase of talented and ambitious young businesspeople from diverse sectors in Nelson Mandela Bay. From 7 December 2011, MyPE showcases one under 40 achiever a day.
